Fleming Institute of Aesthetic Technology is a non IPL product aligned training organisation, and as such has nothing to do with sales of Intense Pulsed Light systems. We are, however, happy to discuss and advise on the purchase of such equipment.

There are many Intense Pulsed Light systems in the market place, and the number is increasing daily. You need to research and do your homework. There is no one perfect system, but there will be something that is suitable for you needs.

Look at the spec sheet of everything you are considering. Check the range of wavelengths, the energy output, type of applicators available, how many shots will they do? How ling do they last? Can they be refurbished or do they need replacing? What are the cost for refurbishing or replacements? What s the time-frame for refurbishing or replacing. Do you need to have a 2nd applicator on standby? How easy is it to change applicators?

How long has the system been around for? Is it old or fairly new? Is the technology used modern or is it rather outmoded? How easily can the system be upgraded? Can you have software upgrades? Is the system going to be obsolete in 6 months or a years’ time?

What proof of effectiveness is there? Are there any medical white papers that have been peer reviewed? Have you seen photographic or live evidence of the effectiveness of the machine? Talk with people who have used the system and ask for their honest opinion.

How easy is the machine to operate? What sort of training is provided? Is this training from sales staff or qualified teachers with current clinical experience? What sort of clinical backup is there? How are you going to finance the machine? What about insurance and professional indemnity.

Talk to distributors and see if there is a good back-up service. What about serving the machine and possible break downs? Is there a service engineer in your state or area? How soon is the response?
